چکیده

Carter, A. O., and Morley R. (1969). Brit. J. industr. Med., 26, 217-223. Electric current flow through human skin at power frequency voltages. Alternating power voltages were applied to small pieces of living skin. Current and voltage were recorded continuously using voltages from 25 V to 250 V. At the lower voltages the skin appeared unaffected, but rapid destruction occurred at the higher voltages. It is concluded that skin impedance, whilst being extremely variable on account of many physical factors, is dependent on voltage and time of application in the range where dangerous electric shock occurs to human beings at power frequencies.

AC Power Flow in Linear Networks ∗

Electric power systems usually involve sinusoidally varying (or nearly so) voltages and currents. That is, voltage and current are functions of time that are nearly pure sine waves at fixed frequency. In North America, most ships at sea and eastern Japan that frequency is 60 Hz. In most of the rest of the world it is 50 Hz. Normal power system operation is at this fixed frequency, which is why ...

A Low-Voltage, Low Quiescent Current, Low Drop-Out Regulator

The demand for low-voltage, low drop-out (LDO) regulators is increasing because of the growing demand for portable electronics, i.e., cellular phones, pagers, laptops, etc. LDO’s are used coherently with dc-dc converters as well as standalone parts. In power supply systems, they are typically cascaded onto switching regulators to suppress noise and provide a low noise output. The need for low v...

Bistability in the Electric Current through a Quantum-Dot Capacitively Coupled to a Charge-Qubit

We investigate the electronic transport through a single-level quantum-dot which is capacitively coupled to a charge-qubit. By employing the method of nonequilibrium Green's functions, we calculate the electric current through quantum dot at finite bias voltages. The Green's functions and self-energies of the system are calculated perturbatively and self-consistently to the second order of inte...

A New Procedure for Determining Current Harmonic Contribution around an Operation Point at PCC Using Load Modelling Based on Crossed Frequency Admittance Matrix

Abstract:Today, one of the important issues of power quality (PQ) in power systems is the current harmonics. Increasing expansion of nonlinear loads at different parts of the electric network makes harmonic distortion flow through the network. This causes the network to have background voltage and current harmonic distortion and even affect on the PQ of linear load performance. Therefore, it is...

Hydrothermal Optimal Power Flow Using Continuation Method

The problem of optimal economic operation of hydrothermal electric power systems is solved using powerful continuation method. While in conventional approach, fixed generation voltages are used to avoid convergence problems, in the proposed algorithm, they are treated as variables so that better solutions can be obtained. The algorithm is tested for a typical 5-bus and 17-bus New Zealand networ...
